ECC Two-Person Scramble Sees Strong Turnout and Local Winners

houseMary Barrows Jul 30, 2025

This past weekend, the Eufaula Country Club hosted a Two-Person Scramble with 32 teams teeing off for a chance to claim victory across three flights. With strong participation and a wonderfully maintained course, the event proved to be a major success for both players and the club community.

⛳ Championship Flight

Although no ECC members landed in the top spots of the Championship Flight, the competition was fierce and fun to watch:

  • 1st Place: Hammick/Mathews
  • 2nd Place: Cravens/Ray
  • 3rd Place: Padgett/Shellnut

🏆 First Flight Results

ECC's own Ricky Huner and BJ Williams took First Place honors in the First Flight with a winning score of 129. In Second Place were Hunter Jones (ECC Member) and his partner Brian Adams.
There was a three-way tie for Third, with teams sharing Third and Fourth place prize money — including ECC members Paul Eriksen and Brantley Weeks.

🥈 Second Flight Results

The Second Flight was won by ECC team Chris Jeffrey and Trey Washington with a score of 137.
Other top finishers included:

  • 2nd Place: Browning/Robinson
  • 3rd Place: Groce/Lunsford
  • 4th Place: ECC Member Stan Sellers and Holt Richards

🙏 Special Thanks

We are deeply grateful to Ricky Huner for his leadership in bringing this tournament to ECC.
Additional thanks go to Jim Bonner, Len Sparks, Jerry Stanley, and Mary Barrows for their valuable help in organizing and running the event.

A number of participants commented on the excellent condition of the course, and we’d like to give special appreciation to Tony, his grounds crew, Chris Jeffrey, and all the volunteers who made the weekend smooth and enjoyable.

📈 Growing Interest

Excitingly, this event sparked interest in non-resident memberships, thanks to the quality of the course and the warm hospitality experienced throughout the weekend.

We’re proud of the turnout, camaraderie, and sportsmanship that made this scramble a standout event, and we look forward to many more like it in the future.
